Arizona News –Winter Blast at Buckeye Equestrian Center
Welcome Winter Visitors to the great weather that Arizona normally has to offer you. You might have to put a sweatshirt and raincoat on but it’s better than down coats, fleece lined Carharts and thermal underwear! On January 10 a total of 165 riders entered up to run at a pay out of $5,797.00. Low entry fees and no late fees was added incentive. The American West 4D Winter Blast was co-sanctioned with NBHA, NW5D and PacWest at the Buckeye Equestrian Center. Chuey did a great job on the ground as usual. Thanks to BEC and Chuey for helping make this race a great success.
Two great sponsors for the awards that were presented to the lucky winners were Lone Star Silversmiths who provided the beautiful buckles and Pro Rider for donating the saddle. Not to forget the AW4D organization provided the plaques as one of the prizes during the “card draw” for the grand pize saddle at the end of the show! Thank you one and all!
Borrowing a fun way to give out awards from our friends up in Utah, all the money winners picked a playing card for the new unopened deck and tore it in half. One half kept by that person and the other half put in a box. When all the cards had been given out, the Pee Wee riders began picking cards from the box until we got down to the last seven cards. These seven were prize winners! The American West 4D plaques were awarded to Sydney Garcia, Betsy Nunn, Crystal Poteet, Lyndee Stairs and one other winner whose name was misplaced. The buckle winner was Roseanne Strobel, The lucky saddle winner was Oklahoma’s own, Michael Torturo! Congratulations everyone!
